10 Best Hinged Door Camping Tents – Tested & Reviewed

January 7, 2021/Riley Draper Table of Contents

We often pop in and out of our tent multiple times in a day. Whether it be a boating, fishing, or hunting excursion, or perhaps a relaxed lounge by the fire, outdoor adventures are filled with comings and goings. You run back to the tent because you forgot your sunscreen, clumsily and hurriedly attempting to zip up the door. A hinged door tent can make the ins-and-outs of camping much more convenient, especially with a pile of kids who can’t make up their minds.

What is a hinged door tent? A hinged door is typically made up of two poles, one vertical and one curved to allow the door to swing open easily. Just like your front door at home. Often the hinged door is secured by Velcro, allowing for a hasty departure of your tent. There is an option to zip the tent up to fully secure it when you need to. If you are interested in making your camping experience a little easier, you may want to check out our top picks of hinged door tents. Pick one up before your next camping trip!

10. Coleman Evanston 8-Person Family Dome Tent

[amazon box=”B001RPH7JY”]

You could describe the tent as almost a full double layer, including the inner tent plus the fly. The fly does not go all the way to the ground, however, so we would still describe it as a partial fly. Due to the awnings and partial fly, we would not recommend this tent for areas of strong winds.
