Each strap has 30 adjustment points/attachment loops, ideal for setting up your hammock at any height desired. The straps are made of durable poly filament webbing and have a weight capacity of up to 400 lbs (when combined).
The ENO Eagles Nest Outfitters Atlas Hammock Straps set includes a handy carry bag to keep the straps protected during transport. Do note that this set does not come with carabiners, which you’ll need to add separately (or use the ones included with your ENO hammock).
Trusted by many campers and backpackers as the go-to brand for hammocking gear, ENO – and its ENO Atlas straps – is a solid choice to keep you suspended in style.
ENO Eagles Nest Outfitters Helios Hammock Suspension System
- HAMMOCKING DONE RIGHT: Pairs perfectly with any ENO Hammock (not included). Features an easy-to-adjust bury splice tension system that helps prevent slippage. Let the napping begin
Another popular set of hammock straps by ENO Eagles Nest Outfitters is the Helios Hammock Suspension System. Do note that these straps do not feature the regular daisy chain/looped chain design. Instead, the straps come with a ‘Microtune™ Adjustable System’, which is a splice tension system to prevent slippage.
This high-quality set includes 2 straps with a combined weight capacity of 300 lbs. The straps measure over 8 feet in length, with a 1-inch width. The Helios straps only weigh 4.1 ounces, making this ultralight set ideal for backpacking – as it won’t weigh you down on your adventures.
The Helios Hammock Suspension System by ENO is made of heavy-duty, extra-strong material: Dyneema line with a polyester blend, offering great durability. The set also includes a nylon compression carry bag, which keeps the straps tangle-free and secure when carried in your pack. The ENO Helios straps are also a tree-friendly strap design, ensuring minimal impact on the environment, keeping trees healthy – in line with the Leave-No-Trace philosophy.
According to other hammockers, the Helios straps are easy to use and convenient to hang, making setup a breeze. Keep in mind that these straps are a bit shorter than most (8ft versus 10ft) and are a bit more limited in weight capacity (400 lbs). However, if you’re looking for ultralight hammock straps by a trusted, high-quality brand, the ENO Helios set is as good as it gets!
WEHE Heavy Duty Hammock Straps
- HAMMOCK STRAPS SET: 10 Feet Long (20 Ft Total) x 1 Inch Wide (Tree Friendly), 18 Attachment Loops (36 Total), 1000+ Lbs Per Strap (2000+ Lbs Total). No-Stretch Heavy Duty Triple Stitched Seams, Hang...
If you’re looking for a budget-friendly alternative to high-end brands, consider the WEHE Heavy Duty Hammock Straps. This affordable set includes 2 daisy chain hammock straps, measuring 10 ft x 1″ each. The straps are made of non-stretch polyester with triple stitching for added durability. Each strap has 18 attachment loops for easy hanging.
Do note that though the weight capacity is listed as 2000 lbs in the product listing, this is actually the maximum breaking tension (the very limit of the weight range). Realistically, the weight capacity of the set will be around 1400 lbs when combined. That said, this is still a very high limit – so don’t be deterred by the discrepancy in weight capacity.
The WEHE Heavy Duty Hammock Strap Set does include a carrying bag, but not the required carabiners to clip your hammock in place. However, for the affordable price listed, purchasing a few heavy-duty carabiners separately seems like a fair trade-off. The WEHE Heavy Duty Hammock Strap Set may not be the best quality strap set on the market, but according to its many 5-star Amazon reviews, it’s more than great quality enough to create a sturdy hangout!

The only minor con is the straps packing weight, which (at 15 ounces) isn’t the lightest on the market. That said, for the set’s affordability, durability, and ease of usage, this slightly heavier carrying weight is worth the compromise.

The total weight capacity of the straps (when combined) is approximately 1400 lbs. Do note that though the product listing mentions 2000 lbs, this is the upper limit – not the recommended limit. We’d, therefore, rate them at 1400 lbs, which is more representative of their actual performance.

Furthermore, the set is covered by a 100% Money Back Guarantee, covering the straps and accessories against manufacturing defects: which is always a pro when offered on your purchase – and allows you to buy with confidence.
Do note that as these straps are extra-long, they also are a bit heavier than ultralight options. The total packing weight of the set (including carabiners) is 17.2 ounces. Though we think this is still quite manageable, the added packing weight is something to consider if you plan to take the straps backpacking and/or on multi-day hikes.

Each strap in the set features 18 attachment loops, allowing for easy setup at all hanging heights. Their lightweight carrying the weight and compact packing dimensions making the Rallt straps great for backpacking. The total packing weight of the Rallt Hammock Tree Straps Set is just 11.7 ounces. The straps can also be compressed into a tiny 4″ x 4″ x 1.5″ package.

A minor con is that the set isn’t the lightest choice on the market, as the total packing weight is 22 ounces. On the plus side, the set does come with a 1-Year Product Warranty, and a 60-day 100% money-back guarantee; making it a risk-free purchase for your hammocking adventures.

The affordable set by pys features a special flat-looped design. This means it takes up less space when packed down, making it easier to fit in a backpack. The loops are double-stitched for durability, whilst each bar tack on the strap is also doubled to make the strap more resilient and sturdy. This results in total weight capacity of up to 1400 lbs. Yes, the product listing mentions 2000 lbs, but this is the upper limit, and we would not recommend the straps to carry more than 1400 lbs for safety.
Extra-long, double-reinforced, and easy to hang: the pys XL Hammock Straps is a budget-friendly favorite for those campers who want maximum coverage without paying the maximum price.
Each set of hammock hanging straps in this overview can be the best, depending on what buying factors are most important to you. Picking the perfect pair of straps is all about your camping preferences, and where and when you plan to use the straps. For example, if you want an extra-long strap that can reach between far-away anchor points, a 12-foot or 14-foot option (like the HangTight Hammock Straps ) is a match. However, if you’re more concerned with weight capacity because you want to use a double hammock, upgrading to a set that can carry a heavy maximum load (like the Bear Butt Kodiak Hammock Straps) is a better choice. Then you also need to consider factors such as double-stitching versus triple-stitching, packing weight (especially for backpacking), price, and branding. You see, picking ‘the best straps’ is not that easy!
That said, there aren’t any bad choices, as each set in this overview has got what it takes to keep you secure and supported. We’ve only included hammock hanging straps that rate highly in Amazon customer reviews, and get a big thumbs up from other hammock camping experts. Easy to hang, easy to use, tree-friendly, and excellent value-for-money: those boxes are ticked by every product in this Top 10 overview. All you need to do is determine which buying factors are most important to you, and match them to a strap set in the comparison chart below.

Best Hammock Straps – Buying Guide
When shopping for hammock straps and/or a hammock suspension system, there are a few important buying factors to take into consideration. These factors can make a big difference in whether a pair of straps is perfect for your camping needs.
For example, if you often suspend a hammock between spaced-out trees, you need an extra-long strap to secure it. Or if you often go backpacking over longer distances, you want a pair of ultralight straps instead of bulky, heavy-duty straps that will weigh down your pack. Below, we’ve listed the most important buying factors, as rated by our hammocking experts.
Read our Buying Guide below, get informed about the possibilities, and make a well-informed choice in the Best Hammock Straps for your specific hammocking needs:
Daisy Chain Suspension System
The most common type of hammock straps available on Amazon is a daisy chain, also known as looped straps or daisy chain loops. This type of hammock strap has our experts’ preference, which is why it’s featured heavily in our Best Hammock Strap Overview. You may already be familiar with daisy chain straps, but for those readers who aren’t, we want to give a quick recap of this type of suspension system:
Daisy chain tree straps, also known as looped straps, are a tree-friendly alternative to rope or paracord. This type of strap is super easy and convenient to use. Simply put, daisy chains are straps that go round a tree, feeding back through a loop. Most daisy chains loops for hammocking come with multiple loops on the opposite end, allowing you to quickly pick the perfect height for your hammock. How to set up? Once you’ve looped the daisy chain around the tree and attached the end, you can use a carabiner to clip your hammock to the webbing/loop at the desired height.
There are various benefits to choosing daisy chain webbing/looped webbing instead of regular cords and rope. Firstly, webbed daisy chain straps are extra durable and less prone to stretching and breaking. Additionally, daisy chain hanging straps don’t require you to tie any knots, plus are less likely to tangle. Though one of the biggest benefits of using daisy chain straps is that this type of suspension system is gentler on trees. Rope and cords can quickly damage tree back, whilst wider daisy chain webbing distributes the weight of the hammock better, without cutting into the tree and/or bark. Making this a great option for Leave-No-Trace camping, as you leave only a minimal footprint on your campsite environment.
Hammock hanging straps are available at different lengths, which is something to be aware of when your shopping for this camping essential. The longer your strap, the more hanging opportunities you have. However, the length of the strap will also affect the packing weight – so don’t just opt for the longest option automatically. We advise you to consider how much distance you use on average between the anchor points of the hammock.
If you prefer a short distance between anchor points, an 8-foot strap should be sufficient. If you prefer more flexibility, choose extra-long straps that measure a minimum of 10-foot in length to guarantee sufficient coverage. Tip: some product listings on Amazon feature multiple strap lengths, so make sure to double-check whether you’ve selected the correct length before checking-out.
Width and thickness
Two other important factors to take into consideration are the width of your strap and the thickness of your strap. The thicker and wider your hammock straps are, the more sturdy and durable their performance is. A thicker and wider strap can distribute your camping hammock’s weight more evenly, which – in turn – is less damaging for a tree.
The width and thickness often also influence weight capacity. Therefore, if you want your straps to carry a heavy load, we recommend opting for a thicker and/or wider strap set.
Hammock hanging straps can be made of a variety of materials, but most common are polyester and ripstop nylon. When shopping for hammock straps, ensure that the type of material used is a high-grade and/or high-quality choice. What we mean by this is that not all polyester straps or nylon straps are of the same quality standard. We recommended a higher number of deniers for fabric bands, and ripstop materials if possible. Ripstop is a term used for nylon that offers more resistance to wear and tear and is less likely to puncture or rip, making it more durable and sturdy.
Also, check the stitching of the material. Single stitching is not recommended, as these straps are more prone to unraveling, fraying, and damaging. Double-stitched straps are most common, as they offer twice the durability. There are also straps with triple stitching, which ensure 3 times the support and sturdiness. If you have a choice, always choose straps with double stitching or triple stitching over a single stitching strap.
How to check whether material is up to scratch? Browse the Amazon user reviews and see what other campers are saying about durability. Don’t want to waste time trawling through reviews? Then use our Best Straps Overview – where we’ve already researched quality and performance for you!
Maximum weight capacity
Another very important buying factor for hammock straps is weight capacity, also known as the maximum load. The weight capacity of hanging straps indicates how much weight can be supported. However, this isn’t as simple as calculating your body weight and taking that as a guideline. This is because when you move during the night, different angles of tension can put more pressure on the straps. That is why we recommend straps to support at minimum twice your bodyweight – as anything less can put too much strain on your hammock straps and hammock supports. So, if you weigh 175 lbs, find a strap set with a weight capacity of 350 lbs or more to keep you securely supported.
Some hammock straps also list a maximum breaking tension. This number is the maximum weight it can withstand without the loops on the strap snapping/breaking. Keep in mind that this is at the very limit of what a strap can handle, verging on the edge of snapping – which is a limit you want to avoid. Therefore, the straps set’s recommended weight capacity is a better measurement to use than the maximum breaking tension.
If you choose a daisy chain webbing strap, you’re not just choosing a strap with easy setup and convenience, but also are making a tree-friendly choice. These straps are gentle tree-huggers and are less prone to damaging thin-skinned trees. By distributing the weight of the hammock more evenly, and with a broader webbed surface, daisy chain straps don’t dig into a tree’s bark – leaving the tree in the same state as you found it.
This tree-friendly benefit of daisy chains is great for campers who follow the leave-no-trace philosophy, and we recommend this approach for all outdoor enthusiasts – as it ensures the following generation will get to enjoy nature as much as we do!
